Why “Cailleach Coaching”?

The Cailleach (pronounced kall-yukh) is an ancient figure from Celtic mythology. She appears across Scottish and Irish traditions as a divine hag or crone goddess, a wild woman of the land, tied to mountains, storms, winter, and wisdom. Her name simply means “old woman” or “veiled one,” and she represents the parts of life that are often hidden, overlooked, or hard-earned: transformation, aging, rest, and deep inner knowing.

She’s not gentle in the traditional sense — she’s elemental. She builds landscapes, commands the weather, and guides the seasons from one to the next. But she’s also a protector, a teacher, and a keeper of ancient truths. The Cailleach reminds us that change can be both fierce and necessary, and that there’s wisdom in slowing down, shedding old skins, and stepping into our power with both feet on the ground.

I chose the name Cailleach Coaching because it speaks to the kind of growth I want to support: not rushed, not polished, not performative, but rooted, realistic and resilient. Whether you're navigating career decisions, leadership challenges, or personal shifts, I want this to be a space where you can grow.

The Cailleach reminds us that rest is productive and that change is part of growth, and that’s why Cailleach Coaching offers:

  • A grounded, human approach to change

  • A space that you can shape in line with your values

  • An honest and intuitive coaching relationship
